Water Bottle & Straw Review

A girly girls review of water bottles and straws. Exciting stuff eh? I have a love/hate relationship with water bottles. I use them for all manner of liquids (water, Coca-Cola, iced tea, smoothies, etc) and that may be why my relationship with them is so tortured. Some are just not geared for the liquid I put in them. That doesn’t make them bad bottles but they just aren’t the best for how I used them. Although I’ve drastically cut back on my Coca-Cola I do drink a smoothie most weekday mornings on the way to work then drink from the bottles all day at my desk.  Continue reading

Kristin Ess Haircare Review

For the majority of my teen and adult life, I’ve been trying to find the perfect products for my hair. I was reading in a magazine that Kristin Ess, celebrity hairstylist, had a new budget haircare line coming out at Target. Like I needed another reason to go to Target. Just the cute products in the less than $5 bins at the front of the store get me every time with junk I don’t need.

I love my Beautycounter shampoo and conditioner, so I’m not deviating from that. Styling products are what I’m in search of. So, I placed my order online, and I’ve been using it for about two months now.

Kristin is the founder of beauty site The Beauty Department. She is also a major social media influencer and stylist to clients including Lauren Conrad and Lucy HalePeople magazine did a short interview of sorts with Kristin and The Everygirl blog also did a very nice post. Allure magazine writes in depth about how this line is going to be major. Kristin has gorgeous red hair that I envy a lot. I mean A. LOT. Good products don’t always equate to me having beautiful hair though. I’ve pretty much given up that idea as I get older. I just want easy. Ain’t nobody got time to spend an hour on hair in the morning and primp it all day long like I used to.

As much as I like this line, it still isn’t the one, and I’ll tell you why below.

Warby Parker vs. EyeBuyDirect

I finally ordered the glasses from Warby Parker that I have been coveting for quite a while. I paid the $95 which is about $50 more that I typically spend on glasses but I wanted them so much. I didn’t need them as I have about 8 other pairs but I was weak.

The style name is Simone and the color is Blue Coral. They are teal blue and brown tortoise and aren’t they just beautiful?

There is only one problem though. They don’t fit my head. How can that be you ask? Well, I have a fat head to be honest. I used to think it was all the hair I had but after I lost most of my hair when I got sick a couple of years ago I realized I just have a fat head. One size fits all hats don’t fit my head and if I can order by size I usually have to get the biggest one. I take after my father in that regard (well, there is many other things I take after him on as well but we won’t get into those today).
