For the majority of my teen and adult life, I’ve been trying to find the perfect products for my hair. I was reading in a magazine that Kristin Ess, celebrity hairstylist, had a new budget haircare line coming out at Target. Like I needed another reason to go to Target. Just the cute products in the less than $5 bins at the front of the store get me every time with junk I don’t need.
I love my Beautycounter shampoo and conditioner, so I’m not deviating from that. Styling products are what I’m in search of. So, I placed my order online, and I’ve been using it for about two months now.
Kristin is the founder of beauty site The Beauty Department. She is also a major social media influencer and stylist to clients including Lauren Conrad and Lucy Hale. People magazine did a short interview of sorts with Kristin and The Everygirl blog also did a very nice post. Allure magazine writes in depth about how this line is going to be major. Kristin has gorgeous red hair that I envy a lot. I mean A. LOT. Good products don’t always equate to me having beautiful hair though. I’ve pretty much given up that idea as I get older. I just want easy. Ain’t nobody got time to spend an hour on hair in the morning and primp it all day long like I used to.
As much as I like this line, it still isn’t the one, and I’ll tell you why below.
Today, Beautycounter is announcing 2 new product additions to their baby and kids line of products.
- Calming Diaper Rash Cream
This hypoallergenic formula is made with safer ingredients. It is preservative, paraben, phthalate, soy, nut, and gluten-free. Non-nano zinc oxide helps relieve and prevent redness, inflammation, and irritation. Tapioca starch absorbs excess moisture caused by diapers while helping maintain skin’s softness and smoothness. Shea butter and jojoba oil moisturize and nurture delicate skin. $18
- Classic Diaper Bag
Carry all of baby’s essentials in a stylish canvas diaper bag, featuring a classic navy exterior and striped interior lining. Big enough to carry all the necessary items, plus it includes a changing pad, canvas pouch and plenty of pockets for ease and organization. $98

Is February the month of love? I think so…………it’s when my husband proposed to me for Valentine’s Day. Cliché it may be but it was very romantic. American marketing and branding thinks it is the month of love as well. Do you believe in the hullaboo that is Valentine’s day?
February also means that I want to wear a lot of pink and red for the month and that includes my cosmetics. Pink is my very favorite color and there is an old saying that redheads don’t look good in pink. Beautyeditor has a great article about what makeup colors redheads can wear and there is a lot of pink there! And doesn’t Julianne Moore just look stunning in her pinks lips?
Speaking of lips………….I don’t have a lot of pink cosmetics so I jumped at the chance to get this limited edition Beautycounter blush/lip sheer duo being offered at $52 (an $18 discount) while supplies last. The colors are pink perfection and I do look good in pink! Keep reading below for a free gift!
